Lumière et Son was a year long project by Sam Renseiw and Philip Sanderson in which Sam provided the Lumières (silent footage of usually no more than one minute in duration in the manner of the Lumière brothers one reel films) and Philip added the Son or sound mix using found recordings, snippets from film soundtracks etc. The project ran from November 2009 to November 2010. The posts are presented in the chronological order in which they were made - so oldest first.
ah, something from the soundprojector/pinsent compilation i presume?
ReplyDeletemakes a fine detournement :-)
Yes the beautiful speaking voice was first used on the Resonance show but here it is matched with a new accomplice in a small excerpt from Basil Kirchin's score for Dr Phibes (a curious piece of well crafted macabre) . The speaking voice itself has also benefitted from some underwater ring modulation.
