Lumière et Son was a year long project by Sam Renseiw and Philip Sanderson in which Sam provided the Lumières (silent footage of usually no more than one minute in duration in the manner of the Lumière brothers one reel films) and Philip added the Son or sound mix using found recordings, snippets from film soundtracks etc. The project ran from November 2009 to November 2010. The posts are presented in the chronological order in which they were made - so oldest first.

The sound is a mix; the piano is a loop of the intro to Party Fears Two (not the original but the Heaven 17 version of the Associates tune) the voice over is cut down from a youtube video which has a commentary on cake shops in London. I was trying for that Atget/patisserie feel....
